The South holds some of the finest picturesque images of nature. It is easy to capture a moment, whether it be the Spanish moss blowing in the breeze, the sun creating shimmering lights across the lake water, the wildlife feeding at sunrise, or even something as simple as a bee buzzing about colorful, Florida wildflowers, if you just make the time to really see it. Alfred B. MacClay Gardens State Park is a local example of the beauty discovered in nature. Visiting takes you out of Tallahassee and takes you into a world of pastel and vibrant colors blended together to create a palette that creates an everchanging painting you will grow and continue to love. Lake Ella Park offers an eclectic grouping of nature, people and activity. In all honesty, I love the feel of Lake Ella – the true feeling of happy, kind and community all wrapped up in one small park. Even amongst the hustle and bustle of city life, one can escape into a place of green splashed with color. Cascade Park offers a great number of activities and events, but it also provides the community with trails, functional green space and nature to enjoy. There are numerous parks deserving of recognition, and worthy of a visit, so please venture and visit our uniquely beautiful parks. While you are at it – take someone special along to enjoy it with you.
